Thirupullani is one of the 108 Divyadesams -
the main deity is worshipped as Adi Jagannatha and his consort as
Padmasini. This temple is very close to Sethu Karai from where Rama
built the bridge to Sri Lanka.
It is in this Kshethram, Lord Rama has a separate sannidhi and seen in reclining posture on Dharba Grass, with Adishesha (Lakshmanan) as bed & umbrella, Lord Brahma on a Lotus from His navel with sapthadevathas surrounded. Rama did a penance lying in Kusa grass and worshipped the Samudra Rajan. This Kshetram is also the "SaranAgathi ksethram” where VibeeshanA surrendered to the Lord!
As per another earlier legend, Dasaratha performed different yagams and got the payasam, which he offered it to his wives.
There is also a Pattabhisheka Ramar Sannidhi, infront of Dharbasaya Ramar, where Lord Rama can be seen in Pattabhisheka Thirukolam – crowned as King of Ayodhya with Sita Devi, Lakshmana, Bharatha and Shatrugnan. And also a separate sannidhi to Krishna dancing on Kalinga.
