The Mylapore musical tour by Sriram V took us
through the four mada veethis of Kapali temple in mylapore. The lanes
are filled with stories of tradition, music and art - We got to hear amazing snippets about the legendary composer Papanasam
Sivam, the marghazi bajans around the mada veethi, the doyens of
Carnatic music and academies which promoted this art form - Stories
about KVK, Papanasam Sivam's songs, DK Pattamal, Arubathimoovar and
Panguni Uthram festivals, various anecdotes about artists - from the
Madras Musings Man himself.. What a day! Here's a video of the tour..
